今回はアニメのジョジョの奇妙な冒険のEDに使われていたRoundaboutという歌を翻訳してみました。

ジョジョファン歴が長い方には「やっぱりこの歌がしっくりくるな」と感じる歌らしく、今回はじめてフルで聞いてみたのですが、8分30秒もある長い歌でした。
特に3:20辺りの間奏部分がカッコ良かったので、長いですが是非聴いてみてください。

※今回は結構特殊な英語表現ばかりだったので、一応何度も調べ直しながら進めたのですが、間違っていた場合はすみません。
ジョジョの奇妙な冒険は舞台や主人公を何度も変えながら描かれている作品で、この歌は「ジョナサン・ジョースター」が主人公の時の アニメ第一部で使われていた歌です。
ジョジョ作品の永遠の宿敵として出てくる「ディオ」との最初の出会いを描いている作品で、ジョナサンの善人っぷりやディオの悪役っ ぷりがよくわかる内容になっています。ディオの行いは悪役に相応しい胸糞モノだらけです。
今見ても十分楽しめる内容だと思いますが、ただシリーズ全般通して動物が高確率で、しかも結構酷い形でお亡くなりになることが多い 作品なので、「あくまで創作だ」と割り切れない方にはちょっと注意な作品かもしれないです。作者の方は動物に恨みでもあるの？って思ってしまううくらいの勢いです。
今の所第五部までアニメ化されていて、絵柄は度々変わるのですがデザインや色が独特で内容も全シリーズ面白い作品なので、是非第一 部から見てみてください。
